Speed was the mainspring in the development of this 12-speed road bike series of a new generation. Several years of research produced those innovations that make the Shimano Dura Ace R9200 even faster. Every component has been revised, refined and optimised to enable the decisive seconds of advantage – whether as a breakaway from the peloton or in the finish sprint on the Champs-Élysées.
The electronic Di2 parts rely on Wireless technology where it matters to make shifting even faster and more reliable. Smooth shifting is also the aim of the Hyperglide+ system, already known from the MTB segment, which is designed to bring out maximum performance and the full potential of every racer.
Shimano Dura Ace shift/brake set consisting of the electronic ST-R9270 STI lever for lightning-fast shifting and the hydraulic BR-R9270 disc brake caliper for superbly controllable and quiet braking. Trouble-free maintenance is provided by the proven One Way Bleeding concept and the Easy Hose Joint System which simplifies brake hose exchanges.

ST-R9270 12 Speed Shifter
Dual Control Lever: DCL stands for Dual Control Lever. It has brake and shifting functions in the system and enables easy operation.
Ergonomic innovation is probably more critical to the higher standard performance than the added gearing. The shift internals borrow the robustness from our MTB technology and are so smooth and effortless that one finger shifts front and rear are possible. Indeed, shifting is the ultimate act of Shimano Toal Integration, and simply has to be experienced to be understood.
The DURA-ACE/ULTEGRA/105 Dual Control Lever have an optimized structure with features that include the lighter weight pivot section in the near side of the shifting unit and the integral shifting cable for lighter steering. Its many component parts are made so compact and precise to achieve unprecedented high-speed performance.
Reach Adjust: Brake lever is equipped with a reach adjust mechanism. The distance from handlebar grip to lever can be adjusted to suit any hand size, type of riding and individual rider preferences.
Servowave Action: When you pull a Servowave brake lever, initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rim contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System): Brake systems with J-Kit hose joint the brake lever features an integrated olive what makes an easy brake hose installation and removal possible.
One Way Bleeding: Developed for quick and easy prevention of air in our hydraulic system. We have streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system. One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
Ice Technologies: The fade, which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice Technologies disc brake rotor and Ice Technologies pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad disc brake rotor blade, which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance. Also, the radiation fin has been adopted for the pad. Moreover, the clad disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.

Unique Ergonomics – The ST-R9270 STI levers for hydraulic disc brakes are characterised accordingly by higher, slightly inwardly inclined horns. In addition, the clearance between the brake lever and the handlebar has been slightly increased for an optimal balance between comfort and control. The shift buttons have also been redesigned to be larger for easy access from the lower handlebar position, and better spaced to ensure intuitive operation even when riding with gloves.
Lightning Fast Shifting – Another feature of the disc brake version is the Wireless functionality, which not only ensures a clean cockpit but also lightning-fast and precise shifting. Nevertheless, the shift/brake levers still offer a cable connection (EW-SD300) for the use of additional shifters in the drops or the top of the handlebar. For numerous customisation and configuration options, compatibility with the improved E-Tube Project app, which, like previous versions, allows you to adjust shift modes (Synchro-/Semi-Synchro-Shift, Multi-Shift), shift speed and button assignment on the fly.
Controlled Braking – Dura Ace R9200 Dual Control levers are also impressive in terms of braking performance. With the help of an extended brake control range, the Servowave technology ensures excellent dosing that offers optimum comfort and control even in challenging conditions. Of course, for individual adjustment, the levers feature the option of reach and free stroke adjustment.
R-R9270 Disc Brake Caliper
One-Piece Mono-Body Design – Not only does this design make the Shimano Dura Ace BR-R9270 brake caliper incredibly light, but also gives it outstanding stiffness values. At the same time, the Flatmount brake made from a single, cold-forged aluminium block proves that high performance is also possible with compact dimensions.
Increased Pad Spacing – A 10 % increase in brake pad spacing also allows for a significant reduction in noise during braking. In addition, when the RT-MT900 brake disc rotor (sold separately) is used, its deformation-resistant design, even with increasing heat, helps to create an extremely quiet and smooth braking system.
Easy Maintenance – To simplify maintenance, the hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper not only features the proven One-Way-Bleeding system, but also a separate arrangement of bleed nipple and opening screw. On the one hand, this minimises the risk of the bleed kit hose slipping off when opening or closing the system and, on the other hand, makes it unnecessary to dismantle the caliper from the frame for bleeding process.
